I haven't forgotten you. I hope you haven't forgotten me. I've been crazy busy lately and neglecting this space but I'll do better so do keep wandering back. I've been shooting a lot lately and hopefully getting better. I'm definitely getting better at interacting with subjects that have - well veins and blood and brains. But it's been really good .. I'll get you guys some of those but in the meantime, here's one that I like from a recent wander ...

It's A Family Affair

Making my way through the crowd of familar and not-so-familiar faces,
I scale the family tree.
Why is it that loss always brings us together
faster than anything else could?
We have the same eyes.
She has my sister's smile.
I swear my grandmother sits in the corner 40 years younger.
He came from over seas - she from up north.
They're coming on the train.
They're flying in tomorrow.
We'll cry and eat and laugh and plan
All to be together - with the family - once again.

Tasty Bites

Nearing the end of a great weekend in Georgia, I had great meal - succulent beef empanadas, sweet fried plantains and a to-die-for dream of a drink .. the Sangria Margarita ... there was so much to choose from and I just knew I would be happy with whatever I got. I eered on the side of moderation and went with the small bites ...

I will be recreating this sooner rather than later ... the drink sooner than soon ... yummm-ooooh! The picture does NOT do it justice ... I should have taken that thing outside for its close-up ...
